PROGRAM PARTNERS

A Place Called Home (APCH) provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes and fitness opportunities. Members of APCH discover their interests and talents while developing a better sense of themselves and their place in the world.

CableCares shares APCH's mission to help at-risk youth stay in school, continue on to higher education, and obtain viable jobs. It's a perfect partnership!

Through generous support from Time Warner Cable, Showtime Networks, SiTV, GolTV, Intel, ABC Family, Disney/ABC Television Networks Group, ESPN, FOX, Avail-TVN, VCI and CableCares volunteers, we spent the first morning of The Cable Show 2010 providing the following improvements to the APCH center, including;  

  • HANDS ON HELP: Volunteers painted walls & murals, installed benches & shelves, reorganized the library and provided data clean up for the center’s registration system.
  • LASTING RESOURCES: CableCares supplied APCH with 20 new Mac laptops with Microsoft Office software, new sports equipment, art supplies and furniture.
  • FINANCIAL DONATION: A contribution was made towards APCH’s "Bridge to the Future" program, which includes college and career preparation, guidance counseling, scholarships and internships for students ready to enter college and/or the job market.
