Emiliano Calemzuk serves as president of Fox Television Studios, a division of News Corporation’s Fox Entertainment Group, which develops and produces programming for major U.S. broadcast and cable networks, and international broadcasters.
Fox Television Studios’ scripted programming slate includes the hit series Burn Notice and White Collar, both for USA Network; Saving Grace for TNT, starring Academy Award®-winner and Emmy nominee Holly Hunter; The Good Guys for FOX (premiering May 19) starring Emmy®-winner Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks; Persons Unknown for NBC (premiering June 7), created by Academy Award-winning writer Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects); The Gates for ABC (premiering June 20); and The Glades for A&E (premiering July 13). The studio also is in production on the new series Lights Out for FX and the pilot The Killing for AMC.
FtvS’ alternative roster includes the late-night The Wanda Sykes Show for FOX, and the hit reality shows, The Girls Next Door and Kendra for E!
FtvS also implemented an international co-production model combining U.S. and international broadcasters in the production of television series for both U.S. and world markets. Direct-to-13-episodes series produced under this model include Defying Gravity (ABC), starring Ron Livingston, produced in conjunction with CTV (Canada), ProSieben, (Germany), the BBC (UK), and with Omni Film Productions; and Mental (FOX) produced in conjunction with Fox International Channels.
Prior to joining Fox Television Studios, and until April 2007, Calemzuk was President of FOX International Channels Europe, where he managed the operation of the 10-channel FOX Italian group as well as several European networks. Additionally, Calemzuk supervised the FOX operation in Spain, France, Germany, Turkey, and Eastern Europe. Based in Rome from 2002 to 2007, Calemzuk led the creation and development of the FOX channel bouquet currently broadcasting on Sky Italia. Under Calemzuk’s leadership, FOX became the market leader in ratings and advertising revenues in the Italian pay TV market through its networks FOX, FOX Life, FOX Crime, FX, National Geographic, National Geographic HD, Adventure One, The History Channel, Cult, and NextHD. Calemzuk was among the first members of News Corporation’s Sky Italia launch team in December 2002.
Before working in Italy, Calemzuk was based in Los Angeles where he served as Vice President and Deputy Managing Director of FOX Latin American Channels overseeing all operating divisions of FOX across 19 countries. During his tenure, National Geographic emerged as a ratings leader in the factual genre across Latin America.
In 2000 Calemzuk held the post of general manager of Fox Kids Latin America. In just one year he created the fastest-growing children’s channel in Latin America and later led the management transition of the channel after its 2001 acquisition by The Walt Disney Company.
Calemzuk joined News Corporation in 1998 as Associate Director of Marketing and Promotions for Fox Latin America. His earlier professional experiences were in Miami at Hero Productions (currently Globecast North America) where he led the start-up of the music television network HTV (currently Turner Latin America Group).
Born in 1973 in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Calemzuk is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with studies at the Wharton School of Business and The Annenberg School for Communications. He is fluent in five languages and has been a featured speaker in several industry conferences, and in academic programs in the United States and Italy.
Calemzuk currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Paola, and daughter, Yael.
