Thomas E. Rothman has been Chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment since 2000. FFE, one of the world’s largest producers and distributors of motion picture and television product, includes Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight (which Mr. Rothman founded in 1994), Blue Sky Animation and Twentieth Century Fox Television.
Among the many enduring Fox films made during his tenure are: Cast Away, Master and Commander, Walk The Line, Juno, The Devil Wears Prada, The Simpsons Movie, the X-Men and Ice Age series, Moulin Rouge, Slumdog Millionaire, and the top two grossing movies of all time: Titanic and Avatar. Fox Films in his era have been nominated for over 100 Academy Awards, won three Best Pictures, and earned in excess of $25 billion in worldwide box office sales. Current brand new hit series from TCFTV include: Modern Family, Glee, and the Family Guy spinoff, Cleveland.
Prior to joining Fox, Rothman held high posts at The Samuel Goldwyn Company and Columbia Pictures. He graduated from Columbia Law School and Brown University and is currently a board member for the American Film Institute and The Sundance Institute, emeritus. He also hosts Legacy, an examination of classic films, which airs on The Fox Movie Channel.
